Description

Embroidered oval patch measuring 4-1/4 inches by 2-3/4 inches. This patch features Smokey Bear in denim pants and a hat holding a shovel. Behind Smokey are green trees on a sky-blue background. In front of Smokey is a wooden sign with "Prevent Forest Fires" in red letters. Created in 1944, the Smokey Bear Wildfire Prevention campaign is the longest-running public service advertising campaign in U.S. history, educating generations of Americans about their role in preventing wildfires. This patch was designed in 1984 and given away as a promotional item to aid in preventing forest fires.
