Boxers lived on Malabar Farm for a long time. Louis Bromfield's favorite dogs included Prince, Rex, and Baby, all Boxers. At one point, there may have been as many as eight dogs living on the farm.
Bromfield's love of Boxers emerged throughout the house as well. One example is this set of Boxer bookends. These bookends have significant signs of wear, which is not uncommon for a house that had at one point as many as eight dogs living in it. One bookend is missing the bottom box and both ears.
