Michele came to the Survey in July 1974 shortly after she graduated from Miami University with a bachelors in geology. She was originally from Pandora, Ohio, where her family owned a grain and cattle farm.
Her projects at the Survey included bedrock topography, drift thickness, and sand & gravel sampling and mapping. She authored four Report of Investigations, eight county Open File maps and authored or coauthored 68 7.5’ bedrock topography maps and one bedrock geology map. The Reports of Investigations included sand and gravel investigations on Medina, Ashtabula, and Trumbull Counties and a surficial materials map for Medina County.
In 1982, she decided to leave the Survey and go back to school for her nursing degree. She received her R.N. from Mount Carmel Hospital School of Nursing in 1985 and began nursing at Riverside Hospital. Soon after Michele was diagnosed with cancer and passed away in 1987 at age 35.
