Description

These wool carding paddles, made of wood and metal wire, are about 9" long by 4" tall. The handles are 4 1/2" long. The original writing on one of the paddles is barely visible and unreadable. Made of wood and metal wire, homesteaders used wool carding paddles to separate and straighten the sheep's wool to prepare for making fiber art or yarn for knitting. These carding paddles were manufactured at the L. S. Watson Manufacturing Company. The L. S. Watson Manufacturing Company was established in 1842 in Leicester, Massachusetts.
