Mathew and Vietta Kennedy Family Portrait - Mathew is the son of Benjamin and Margaret Kennedy. Benjamin Kennedy commissioned the building of the stone house in 1837. Mathew and Vietta's second oldest son, Philip Kennedy, was the third and final generation to live in the stone house.
The placard reads, "The second generation of the Kennedy family to live and own the Stone House. Mathew Turney Kennedy & Vietta Powers Kennedy - Married in Bangor, Maine in June 1886. Their children left to right - Samuel Leland Kennedy was born December 1894, and died February 4, 1942 in Michigan. Anna Powers Kennedy was born July 31, 1887, and died June 19, 1958 in Washington. Don Philip Kennedy was born October 18, 1888 and died June 2, 1970 in Ohio. Clayton Tierney Kennedy was born February 22, 1891 and died August 1971 in Montana."Location
