The blue and white transfer decoration plate commemorates Louis Bromfield and Malabar Farm. The center of plate features the 'Big House' while rim decorations include The Roadside Market, Dairy Farming, Doris Duke Woods, and Mount Jeez. Also included on the rim decorations are the titles from various Bromfield books including 'Pleasant Valley', 'The Farm', 'Out of the Earth' and 'From My Experience'. A quote from 'Pleasant Valley' is on the back of the plate.
Commemorative plates like this were commonly used to raise funds for projects. The sticker on the bottom states that it was sold for $8. Interestingly, it was produced in Ohio, at the Kettlespring Kilns in Alliance, Ohio.Location
