Pike Lake State Park - Ambulance, ca. 1933-1942: An ambulance parked at Camp Pike-the home of Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Company 503. The CCC program provided a host of educational and job-training opportunities for its enrollees. One popular program was first aid. By providing help to their fellow enrollees, these young men exited the CCC with the training necessary to serve as a paramedic in civilian and military roles.
