Match Holder/Fire Kindler

Description

A matchstick holder, also known as a "fire kindler" made by the Clark Manufacturing Co., Fond Du Lac, WI. Clark Mfg Co. was a producer of steam, and later, gasoline engines for use in the marine transport industry in the late 19th Century. This fire kindler was likely originally designed to be used alongside coal-powered steam engines, and was repurposed for use in the house's kitchen at a later date.
