2022.2.104.10Description
This is a restored red enameled meat cutting saw 1924 manufactured by Biro Company.
Meat-cutting machines date back to the late 1800s; however, this saw was invented by Carl G. Biro, an American immigrant who founded the BIRO Manufacturing Company in the early 1920s. After settling in America, Carl became an apprentice and proprietor of his meat market but decided to dispose of it in 1921 to pursue his "American Dream" and produce a meat cutting machine. He leased an old church and used the available and affordable equipment to create the first BIRO® Power Meat, Fish, and Bone Cutter.
The BIRO Manufacturing Company is located in Marblehead, Ohio and continues to manufacture and market meat saws and more than 35 other items.Location
