Description

This hand-made ice-fishing box/seat is made of wood with a canvas-covered seat. It was used for ice fishing. It served as the fisherman's seat and a place to store his catch of the day in the bottom section. The attached rope made it easy to pull it on and off the ice, especially if the fisherman was skillful or lucky enough to have the lower section full of fish. It may not have been luxurious, but it served its purpose for many anglers. Later versions include a lantern in the lower section for added warmth and longer-term fishing.
