2022.4.00.F7Description
The 1994 Fish Ohio pin features a muskie on a dark blue background. The muskie, or muskellunge, is enameled with bright green scales and blue green fins. The same blue green is used for the scales on the head and upper back of the fish. Fish Ohio is in silver above the muskie and the date is centered beside the fish.Context
The Fish Ohio program recognizes anglers for noteworthy catches of Ohio’s fish. Since 1976, more than 400,000 anglers have been recognized for their catches. The Ohio Division of Wildlife took over the program's management in 1980.
Each angler with a qualifying catch receives a collectible Fish Ohio lapel pin. Each year’s pin has a different species of fish on it, along with the year, so the pin that the angler receives won’t necessarily have the same fish on it as the qualifying fish caught. Fish must be taken by legal angling and not from pay lakes.Collection
