Ohio Fire Tower Restoration Project - Mohican Fire Tower (ca. 2009)Description
Embroidered patch in the shape of Ohio. This patch features the Mohican Fire Tower in the background with green trees and lawn and a blue sky. In front of the fire tower is a wooden sign with a facial portrait of Smokey Bear and "Mohican Fire Tower" in red letters. "Ohio Fire Tower" and "Restoration Project" are also on the patch in red letters.
Created in 1944, the Smokey Bear Wildfire Prevention campaign is the longest-running public service advertising campaign in U.S. history, educating generations of Americans about their role in preventing wildfires. This patch was designed circa 2009 and promoted the restoration of the remaining state-owned fire towers in Ohio.
