Description

Pard dog food was produced by Swift & Co of Chicago, Illinois. The formulation was developed by Herbert Robinson, at the time the head of a research division focused on nutrition at the company. Swift & Co. began a department focused on Pard dog food in 1934, nine years after Ken-L-Ration became the first commercially produced dog food in the United States. By 1954, Pard was one of the top dog food brands as part of a $200,000,000 industry. Their position included a reputation as a world renowned research facility in reference to dog nutrition.
