Maggie Sneering was a geologist and mineral statistician in the Regional Geology Section. She joined the Ohio Geological Survey after completing a Bachelor of Science in geology at Louisiana State University and a Master of Science in geochemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
As the Survey’s mineral statistician, she was responsible for the compilation and production of the annual Report on Ohio Mineral Industries. Maggie produced the 1983 report, the first one in this series for which the Survey was solely responsible for gathering, editing, and publishing of the mineral statistics for Ohio. She created innovative changes in methods of data gathering. Her influence improved the accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of the compilation of Ohio’s mineral statistics.Photograph Details
