Description

The two wooden handles at the ends of this large saw give a clue as to how it worked. Designed to cut wood perpendicular to the grain, this large saw required two people to operate. Most crosscut saws operate on the 'push' and 'pull' strokes. The perforated lance tooth blades combine cutting teeth with a 'raker' tooth to plane away the marks of the cut. This two-person crosscut saw is made of metal and has handles on both sides. It has perforated lance tooth blades to cut material.
