Description

Ronson began as The Art Metal Works in 1897 and produced the first fully automatic lighter in 1926. Louis V. Aronson renamed the company Ronson in 1909. Their first patent for a pocket lighter was issued in 1910. This silverplate lighter made by Ronson Art Metal Works in Newark, New Jersey is decorated with a swirl and bead design. Ronson called this their crown design. They produced it from 1936 until 1949 when it was redesigned. The Bromfields also had the Queen Anne design of Ronson's tabletop lighters.
