Indian Lake State Park - 50th Anniversary Event, 1999: Chunks of ripe watermelon are laid out for what appears to be a watermelon eating contest. This event was part of the commemoration for Indian Lake State Park's 50th anniversary as a state park held on August 21, 1999. Indian Lake has a long history as a recreation destination stretching back into the 1800s. It was one of Ohio's first state parks following the creation of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) in 1949.
