Description

Dietzgen survey transit, 600 series, with top sighting lens, adjusting gears, spirit level, and compass. Survey transits measure horizontal and vertical angles. The metal base attaches to a tripod, and the silver-toned dials adjust the device to level it before sighting through the top sighting lens. The Dietzgen Company, founded in 1885, was based in Chicago, Illinois, and manufactured and sold drafting supplies, mathematical apparatus, and survey equipment.
