The grey body and blue bill of this decoy identify it as a Scaup, but it is difficult to determine if it is a Greater or Lesser Scaup. Carved by Jack Rider from a yellow pine telephone pole, this decoy is designed to attract any migrating ducks close to waiting hunters.
