This is a wooden bowl with a distinct wood grain. made from Osage Orange. Pete Thoma of Mansfield, Ohio, signed the bottom of the bowl. Inscription: Osage orange wooden bowl, Made by Pete Thoma Mansfield, Ohio Osage Orange (Maclura pomifera) is a beautiful wood, initially a gold to bright yellow color that ages to a darker medium brown with time and exposure to UV light. Osage Orange is exceptionally durable and is considered one of the most decay-resistant woods in North America.
