This painting depicts Saint Eulalia of Barcelona. She is shown holding an unlit torch, one of the instruments of her torture. Collectively known as The Eight Ladies in Waiting, the eight (8) José de Zamora paintings in the entry of the Big House are inspired by Spanish Baroque artist Francisco de Zubarán (1598-1664) and are images of Catholic Saints.
