This painting depicts Saint Catalina also known as Catherine of Alexandria. She is shown carrying the sword with which she was executed. Collectively known as The Eight Ladies in Waiting, the eight (8) José de Zamora paintings in the entry of the Big House are inspired by Spanish Baroque artist Francisco de Zubarán (1598-1664) and are images of Catholic Saints.
