Description

This Grand Slam Fish Ohio pin features a largemouth bass. The pin follows the pattern of the 20th anniversary pins from the 2000 season, but the state of Ohio behind the fish and fishing rod is enameled in dark blue. The square beside the fish is enameled in brown and reads Grand Slam. The Grand Slam Fish Ohio pin was awarded during the 2004-2005 fishing season and again in the 2005-2006 fishing season.

Use

An angler must catch three designated species, each of a size qualifying for a Fish Ohio award, from one of the designated zones - Lake Erie, inland, Ohio River - to qualify for a Grand Slam. The species highlighted in the program derive from the popular Fish Ohio program, which awards anglers a pin and a certificate for noteworthy catches among 19 species. To earn a Grand Slam, the species must be caught within the same license year. Earning a Lake Erie Grand Slam will require anglers to catch a Fish Ohio walleye, smallmouth bass, and steelhead. The Inland Grand Slam will require a Fish Ohio largemouth bass, saugeye, and muskie. To qualify for an Ohio River Grand Slam, anglers must catch a Fish Ohio sauger, hybrid striped bass, and flathead catfish.
