These high button boots were manufactured by Selz Royal Blue in the early 20th century. Selz Royal Blue boots were made by Selz, Schwab, & Co. of Chicago, Illinois. The company was founded by Morris Selz in 1871 as M. Selz & Co. and changed to Selz, Schwab & Co. when Charles H. Schwab joined in 1878. High-button boots became popular in the late 19th century, but during WW1, the rationing of leather and other supplies caused the manufacturing of high button shoes to slow.
