Description

This Wagner cast iron skillet was used as an advertising tool in the 1993 Shelby County Fair. These Shelby County Fair cast iron skillets were part of a 100th year anniversary manufacturing and advertising run made by General Housewares Corporation. Wagner was operated from 1891-1959 in Sidney, Shelby County, Ohio. Wagner's cast iron was extremely popular and had few casting flaws. They produced a variety of items, including nickel plated and aluminum cookware. The company was sold to the Randall Company in 1952 and relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio. Then in 1969, General Housewares Corporation bought Wagner. Production of the Wagner skillet was officially stopped in 1994, one year after the production of the Shelby County Fair skillets. The company is now held by American culinary.
