This is a 1940s single mantle Coleman lantern. This particular model uses kerosene, is made out of green porcelain, and was one of two (model 242C) manufactured between 1941-1950. This lantern has had a lantern shield and a black handle attached.
The Coleman Company introduced its first lantern in 1914 in Wichita, Kansas. Coleman lanterns are still produced today.Location
