Description

This Girl Scout Mess Kit comes in a green carrying case with adjustable straps. The Girl Scout Logo is on one side and a red flannel design is on the other. This sets the production date to between 1954, when the plaid design was introduced, and 1963. Included in this mess kit is a frying pan with a folding handle, a covered kettle, a deep plate and a cup. The trefoil is both, embossed on the snap and printed on the back of bag. Each leaf of the iconic trefoil represents one of the three girl scout promises: “(1) to do her duty to God and her country, (2) to help other people at all times, (3) to obey the Scout law” (“A Patent”). The initials HHLL (or HULL) are written in black near the top of the yellow trefoil logo.
