Blickensderfer Typewriter Company
No. 7 first offered in 1897
The Blickensderfer typewriter was designed by George C. Blickensderfer in 1893 to compete with Remington desk typewriters. It contained only 250 parts as opposed to the 2500 of a standard typewriter. It was known for its portability and had a type wheel that could be removed to change the typeface. They made the first aluminum typewriter and the first electric typewriter in 1902. This model is equipped with a cursive typewheel. (This description is reproduced from the note from the Smiths included with the loan.)Location
