Description

Cruets have been used as a serving tool since the late 17th century. (Their religious use dates back much farther.) They were particularly popular in cultures that used liquid condiments such as oil or vinegar frequently. Additional bottles might offer mustard or dry spices. This Victorian cruet set once held five etched bottles, although only two remain. The silver cruet stand features a floral design on the handle and a frieze around the base using classical vertical lines.
