Description

While coconuts originated in India and Southeast Asia, according to a genetic study done by the National Geographic Society in 2011, they grow in tropical climates across the globe. Some of the movement can be traced back to humans. Some of the movement can be explained more simply: the coconuts themselves float to new beaches where they take root and grow. Coconuts have many uses, but cracking the hard outer shell and removing the meat can be difficult. The rotary coconut grater fits inside the broken coconut shell. When the handle is turned, the blades scrape the coconut out. There have been many forms of coconut grater used throughout the years. This type is still manufactured and available today, although there are automatic graters now.
