Michael J. Clifford doing specimen analysis on subsurface samples. Mike was a geologist in the Ohio Geological Survey’s Subsurface Section. The image was taken in 1973 at the Grandview office building. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Geological Survey's main office was located at 1207 Grandview Avenue, Grandview Heights, Ohio 43212 from 1962 through May 1973. The Grandview office had x-ray, petrography, and geochemistry laboratories on the first floor. More informally, rooms with coal polishing equipment, microscopes, and other types of equipment were located in various spaces at the Grandview office.
