Description

The cartography proofing process to identify any errors or omissions on the four master negatives before sending the proof to the printer. The proof negatives would be reviewed by the Ohio Geological Survey editor, geologist author, Division Chief, and cartography supervisor before being approved for printing. There are four proof sheets that correspond to one of the CMYK colors (CMYK represents Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black). The top sheet in this image is the black layer. After the proof process, the master negatives would be sent to the printer. The printer would return a paper proof that would also go through a final review process.
