Edward V. Kuehnle, cartographer in the Technical Publications Section of the Ohio Geological Survey. The photograph was taken circa 1990.
The Ohio Geological Survey's main office was located at Fountain Square on Morse Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229 from May 1973 to the present. The Geological Survey's offices were on the first and second floors of Building B from May 1973 until a move to the first and second floors of Building C in January 2005.
In an e-mail from Lisa Van Doren on July 21, 2016: S02.08.062—I can’t tell what Ed is doing. I can say that the light table he’s working on was nicknamed the dinosaur. It was hand made by earlier cartographers of the Survey. It was larger than any commercially made table because we worked on such large pieces of film/scribecoat/peelcoat etc. And just for fun I can tell you that the window faces west from the middle of the second floor of building B. I think it was a Tuesday—just kidding. :-)
