An entrance to Crystal Cave on South Bass Island, Ottawa County, Ohio. Crystal Cave is an extremely large celestite geode in the Bass Islands Dolomite. This area has a unit lithology of dolomite, anhydrite, gypsum, salt and shale. Bedrock is from the Silurian Geologic Period. The image was taken in 1981.
