The south highwall of an abandoned strip mine in Jefferson County, Ohio. The mine was visited as part of the coal sampling program. The mine was a source for Pittsburgh (No. 8) coal, Redstone-Pomeroy (No. 8a) coal, and Meigs Creek (No. 9) coal. The image was made in September 1980.
