Name/Title
S21.03.006Description
An older anticline in the streambed in Stebbins Gulch in Holden Arboretum, Geauga County, Ohio. This anticline location had been known for more than 20 years and is upstream from where a small anticline appeared in the Bedford Shale of the same steambed in 1978. When the more recent anticline formed in 1978, the siltstone and shale layers of the Bedford Shale ruptured parallel to the streambed, creating a ridge. Bedrock is from the Devonian Geologic Period. The image was taken by Tom Yates, a naturalist at Holden Arboretum probably in the mid 1970s.
