An outcrop of the Ohio Shale at Copperas Mountain near Bainbridge in Ross County, Ohio. The photograh is taken from on top of the exposed cliff looking downward toward Paint Creek. Unit lithology in this area is Ohio Shale overlain by Bedford Shale and Berea Sandstone. Bedrock is from the Devonian Geologic Period. The photograph was taken October 26, 1982.
