An outcrop of the Ohio Shale at Copperas Mountain near Bainbridge in Ross County, Ohio. Unit lithology in this area is Ohio Shale overlain by Bedford Shale and Berea Sandstone. Bedrock is from the Devonian Geologic Period. This photograph was an entry in the 1983 Ohio Geology Slide Contest.
