Ohio Geological Survey geologists Mark Baranoski and Ron Riley with Bill Hu, employee of Hycrude Corporation, sampling the Cleveland Shale Member on an outcrop of the Ohio Shale at Copperas Mountain near Bainbridge in Ross County, Ohio. Unit lithology in this area is Ohio Shale overlain by Bedford Shale and Berea Sandstone. Bedrock is from the Devonian Geologic Period. The photograph was taken on April 14, 1986.
