Shale pinnacles on an outcrop of the Ohio Shale at Copperas Mountain near Bainbridge in Ross County, Ohio. Unit lithology in this area is Ohio Shale overlain by Bedford Shale and Berea Sandstone. Bedrock is from the Devonian Geologic Period. The photograph was taken by Pauline Smyth on April 2, 1955.
