A roadcut on the James A. Rhodes Appalachian Highway, Ohio State Route 32, in Pike County near the boundary with Adams County. The Berea Sandstone and the Sunbury Shale contact in this area and display sandstone and sandy shale lithologies.Bedrock is from the Devonian and Mississippian Geologic Periods. The photograph was taken by Michael C. Hansen in 1978.
