An outcrop of the Bedford Shale overlain by the Berea Sandstone on the east side of Interstate 77 at the exit 155 for Independence, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Bedrock is from the Devonian Geologic Period. The photograph was taken by Michael C. Hansen in 1981.
