An outcrop of the Black Hand Sandstone Member of the Cuyahoga Formation along State Route 16 east of Newark, Licking County, Ohio. This area has sandstone and sandy conglomerate lithologies. Bedrock is from the Mississippian Geologic Period. The photograph was taken by Michael C. Hansen in 1973.
