Name/Title
S26.02.010Description
An outcrop of the Pottsville Group-Sharon sandstone/conglomerate at Mary Campbell Cave in the Gorge Metro Park, Cuyahoga Falls, Summit County, Ohio. The gorge was cut when glacial debris blocked the former route of the Cuyahoga River, near present-day downtown Akron, and caused the river to find a new course. The river flows over a shale riverbed, between ledges made of the Sharon sandstone/conglomerate. Bedrock is from the Pennsylvanian Geologic Period.
