An outcrop showing the contact of the Pottsville Group-Sharon sandstone/conglomerate with the Sharpsville Sandstone of the Cuyahoga Formation on the east side of the quarry pit owned by R. W. Sidley, Inc, Thompson Township, Geauga County. The area of the quarry has shale, siltstone, sandstone and conglomerate lithologies. Bedrock is from the Mississippian and Pennsylvanian Geologic Periods. The photograph was taken by Michael C. Hansen in 1977.
