An outcrop of the Boggs limestone of the Pottsville Group along Ohio State Route 146 in Muskingum County, Ohio. This area has shale, siltstone, sandstone, conglomerate, limestone, coal, clay and flint lithologies. Bedrock is from the Pennsylvanian Geologic Period. The photograph was taken by Michael C. Hansen in 1984. The location given is approximate based on comparison with information from Measured Stratigraphic Section File Number 687 and Limestones of Eastern Ohio by Raymond E. Lamborn (Ohio Geological Survey, Bulletin 49, 1951).
