Crushed and sorted sand stockpiles from the Pottsville Group-Sharon sandstone/conglomerate at the Silica Sand & Gravel, Inc., quarry in Bainbridage Township, Geauga County, Ohio. The area of the quarry has shale, siltstone, sandstone and conglomerate lithologies. Bedrock is from the Pennsylvanian Geologic Period. The photograph was taken by Michael C. Hansen in 1978.
