An outcrop of the Putnam Hill limestone of the Allegheny Group at the Diamond Portland Cement Company pit in Middlebranch, Plain Township, Stark County, Ohio. This area has shale, siltstone, sandstone, conglomerate, limestone, coal, clay and flint lithologies. Bedrock is from the Pennsylvanian Geologic Period. The photograph was taken in 1960.
