Outcrop showing the ferriferous iron carbonate zone at the top of the Vanport limestone of the Allegheny Group at the Marquette Cement Manufacturing Company quarry in Decatur Township, Lawrence County, Ohio. This area has shale, siltstone, sandstone, conglomerate, limestone and coal lithologies. Bedrock is from the Pennsylvanian Gelogic Period. The photograph was taken by Michael C. Hansen in 1981.
