An outcrop of the Ames limestone of the Conemaugh Group in Morgan Township, Gallia County, Ohio. This area has shale, siltstone, mudstone, sandstone, limestone and coal lithologies. Bedrock is from the Pennsylvanian Geologic Period. The image was taken by Pauline Smyth on August 8, 1964. The location given is approximate based on comparison with information from Measured Stratigraphic Section Files in the area of Morgan Township, Gallia County.
